The Best Pumpkin

pumpkingirl 2_edited.JPG
The following story is submitted to Susanna Leonard Hill's Annual Halloweensie Contest!

Susanna's contest directions are

to write a 100 word Halloween story appropriate for children, using the words pumpkin, broomstick, and creak. Derivations of creak, like creaky, were permitted. I did this last year and had a lot of fun. It is not easy to write a story in 100 words.

There are many great submissions as about as varied as one can imagine. Try writing one yourself and definitely stop by Susanna's website (click the link in bold above) and read and cheer the writers on! Happy Halloween (almost).

So without further ado, I present,

The Best Pumpkin

By Teresa MI Schaefer

Best side up, Pumpkin waited.

It was Halloween. The last day to be picked.

The remainder of this story has been removed to submit to publishing houses for publication. Stay tuned.
